Hampton, NH (June 2011) - C3I, Inc. on 28 April 2011, C3I’s new Growler Emergency Telephone System went to sea on the USCG Sentinel Fast Response Cutter Bernard C. Webber, at its launching ceremony on 28 April 2011 at Bollinger Shipyard’s Lockport Facility.
Each of the Sentinel Fast Response Cutter’s has 17 C3I Growler Emergency Telephone Stations installed, providing back-up emergency communications in the event of a loss of all other communications on board the vessel.
The Sentinel Class cutter is 154 feet fong and is capable of speeds in excess of 28 knots. The vesssels will be armed with one stabilized remotely–operated 25mm chain gun and four crew served .50 caliber machine guns. The cutters will be able to operate independently for five days at sea, accomodating a crew of 23 members. A state of the market command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance D4ISR system will be fully interoperable with other Coast Guard assets as wel as those of the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security.
C3I has already delivered over 60 Growlers to Bollinger on the FRC program, and is under contract for another 42.
