Hampton, NH (June 2011) - C3I, Inc. working with Henderson Electric, Inc of Tampa, Florida, has delivered the ACCS® flight deck controls for the Eglin Air Force Base LHA 7 JSF 35 Flight Deck Training at Duke Field.
The new Eglin Air Force Base airport upgrade program, at the Air Force’s largest base, includes a re-paving of the runway, construction of new training facilities, installation of new runway lighting controls for the main runway, and new military lighting controls for the new LHA 7 flight deck training field at Duke Field.
Approximately 60 F-35 Fighter jets are due to start arriving at Eglin Air Force Base in 2011. These aircraft will be assigned to the 33rd Fighter Wing, which will stand as the world’s first F-35 Integrated Training Center, qualifying Navy, Marine, Air Force, and international partner pilots and maintainers in the F-35.
The ACCS® control system will provide all flight deck lighting control of the LHA7 training deck at this state-of-the-art facility. The C3I system consists of a suite of operator control stations, communication network equipment and distributed lighting drivers. The operator of the LHA 7 training site will control all flight deck lighting from one of two control stations using a touch-screen control panel, that provides complete system status, health monitoring, and control of all distributed lighting drivers. The control panel provides a state-of the-art LED RGB spectrally controlled backlighted LCD screen to provide normal daylighting panel illumination, and Darken Ship lighting to preserve operating personnel night vision. The LED RGB backlighting also provides an NVIS spectrum backlighting that is qualified to meet the latest Night Vision Instrumentation System (NVIS) standards.
